but I'm not sure that I'm happy with the pot as a "finished" item ..............
All/any criticism welcome please. This is the second attempt at adornment - the first was button beads all around the top which didn't work out either. I quite liked the idea of machined cords but needed something to "tie" them together and now I'm not sure about it at all - I was really hoping to put these two "to bed" before starting on another. Not being in a class situation or in touch with like minded artists does have it's disadvantages at times.
On a different, more positive note, I am delighted to see that I've got a mention on Sharonb's "In a Minute ago" - that is exciting!

Could I maybe suggest an "ethnic" clay piece to join those cords. Either air-drying clay or Fimo will do, and both can be impressed with "ethnic" -type patterns. I use some of sherrill kahn's "impress me" rubber stamps which work really well, or sometimes I carve the end of a chopstick into a shape and poke that in.
The pot reminds me of Mexican Pueblo ceramic shapes so a clay seal may add a little something to the finished work.
If you need any more info, you know where I am.
I love the subtle simplicity of these vessels - if it were me I wouldn't add any extra adornment
I think you are being very hard on yourself - they look beautiful and finished perfectly to me!
They are beautiful. Especially the bowl.
